Home / Topic Pages / High-Voltage Battery Systems (96V+)

Custom battery systems from 96V upward. At HOPPT Battery, we use “high voltage” for projects with a nominal battery voltage of 96V or above. The right configuration depends on your actual voltage window, load profile, charging method, installation space and operating environment.

We develop the battery as part of the whole machine: cell chemistry and series configuration, BMS, protection, connectors, enclosure, thermal design and system communication. The information below is a planning guide; final ratings and documentation are confirmed for each project.

96V+ APPLICATION DIRECTIONS

High-voltage power for demanding equipment

The examples below show design directions, not ready-made model specifications. Each project is evaluated against its voltage, load, physical interface and safety requirements.

AUTOMATION

Automated machinery

High-voltage automation projects need the battery, power electronics and controller to work together. Review duty cycle, interface signals, fault handling and safe isolation as a system.

  • Host communication and control
  • Power peaks and operating rhythm
  • Isolation and fault response

ROBOTIC SYSTEMS

Robotics with a 96V+ power bus

Where a robotic platform is designed for 96V or above, pack mass, enclosure space, movement loads and charging strategy can shape the electrical and mechanical design.

  • Movement and burst-load profile
  • Weight and mounting constraints
  • Charging or swapping approach

STATIONARY POWER

Backup & energy systems

For 96V+ stationary systems, the battery is selected around the required backup time, DC bus, monitoring interface, installation conditions and maintenance plan.

  • Backup duration and DC bus
  • Monitoring and communication
  • Installation and maintenance

Engineered as a complete high-voltage system

Application-first

Start with the equipment duty cycle, voltage window, operating environment and service needs.

Cell architecture

Compare chemistry, series configuration, capacity and power against the project brief.

BMS & control

Define monitoring, balancing, protection and communication around the host system.

HV protection

Review pre-charge, contactors, isolation, interlocks and fault response as applicable.

PACK integration

Match enclosure, connectors, thermal paths and mechanical mounting to the equipment.

Project validation

Plan electrical, environmental and integration tests for the exact configuration.

From requirements to a project-ready specification

HOPPT Battery develops customized lithium battery systems with cell selection, BMS, PACK and integration work considered together. A high-voltage inquiry begins with the real operating requirements, not a one-size-fits-all rating.

Define the application

We review voltage, current, energy, charging, duty cycle and environmental limits with your team.

Coordinate the interfaces

Electrical architecture, host communication, mounting and service access are considered together.

Validate the configuration

Samples, tests and documentation are planned against the agreed product and project scope.

PROJECT INPUTS

What we need to size the system

Share what is known today. We can identify open items before proposing a configuration.

01

Electrical demand

Nominal and permitted voltage range, continuous and peak current, power profile, runtime and charging source.

02

Equipment interface

Space, weight, mounting, connectors, host communication, service access and any removable-pack requirement.

03

Operating conditions

Temperature, vibration, ingress exposure, storage pattern, charging schedule and expected maintenance.

04

Safety & evidence

Applicable standards, protection concept, required tests, documentation and the exact configuration to be assessed.

High-voltage battery questions

What counts as a high-voltage battery here?

For this HOPPT Battery topic, a battery system with a nominal voltage of 96V or above is in scope. The actual operating voltage range is defined by the selected chemistry, cell count and project requirements.

Can HOPPT review a custom 96V, 192V or higher-voltage project?

Yes. Share the target voltage window, load profile, mechanical envelope and interface requirements. Feasibility and final ratings are confirmed during engineering review.

Do the illustrations show certified or stocked products?

No. They are concept illustrations of application types. Model specifications, test reports, certifications and availability must be confirmed for the exact proposed system.

Which protection functions should be considered?

Depending on the architecture, the review may cover BMS monitoring, contactors, pre-charge, isolation, interlocks, fusing, thermal limits and fault communication. The applicable set is defined for the project.
